Your Church during a Pandemic

How are we being and doing Church at the moment?

I stood in church on Sunday 15th March, and announced that, whatever happens with the Coronavirus situation, we will continue to be Church.

I did not imagine that those words would be put to the test, just 2 days later.

Since then, in view of the guidelines from the government, and from FIEC, we have had to massively change the way we operate, whilst continuing to worship our God, learn from his word, support each other and be available for people within our wider community.

If you look on our “What’s on” page, you will see that all of our pre-pandemic activities are still listed - in the hope that we will be able to return to them in the future - but at the top of the list, we have a heading “Programme during Pandemic” which lists the activities we are able to offer at present. Here is the list:

  • Sunday Worship on-line via Google Meet
  • Wednesday Prayer on-line via Google Meet
  • Wednesday Communion on-line via Google Meet
  • Thursday Quiz Night on-line via Google Meet
  • Mums in Prayer on various days on-line via Zoom.

Please look on our calendar to find exact dates and times for our on-line meetings, some of which may not be advertised long in advance, as we need to respond to the changing situation around us.

In order to protect each other, we have not shared the link for the meetings above on this website. If you would like to join one of our meetings, please let us know using the details on our “Contact us” page and we will give you the link.

In addition to our on-line meetings, we are so encouraged that people are “being Church” and “living Church” by praying for each other and keeping in contact whatever way suits them best. We are helping each other with shopping, making meals, visiting in a socially distanced manner and being there for each other. We are also taking care to support those who cannot join us on-line for various reasons.

And the great thing about the Church is that we can all encourage each other. Thank you for everything that you are already doing. Please continue to look out for each other and if you or anyone else needs support, please let us know using the details on our “Contact us” page.

Following Jesus has never been easy. Even in Bible times people had to be reminded to encourage each other, as this short quotation demonstrates:

Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

Let's continue "meeting" together as best we can.

May the Lord bless you.

Mark and Gabi
